LIVIGNO, WHERE THE SPRING IS …. WHITE!

Fifty shades of …. White! That’s how we could define the Spring in Livigno, the Alta Valtellina  ski resorts which, thanks to his altitude of 1816 m, allows to ski up to 3000 m  and is one of the few Italian resorts where you can ski until May. From the 21^st to the 28^th of March takes place the "Family Week - Kids Go Free", a whole dedicated to family with children younger than 12 years old. Very popular also with young people is the super promotion “Skipass Free”, which will be valid from the 11th of April until the 3rd of May. What does it mean? It means that if you book a minimum stay of 4 nights in a participating hotel or 7 nights in one of the participating apartments and you’ll get your ski pass for free. Spring is also the season during which Livigno hosts important and international sport events. For the telemark lovers, from the 21^st to the 28^th of March, takes place La Skieda, which gathers in our Little Tibet, free heel skiers from around the world. The theme of this edition is going to be the Comics and about it there will also be a Telemark Comics Contest. Among the coolest appointments there are: the Sun Rising at Passo Eira on Monday 23^rd March at 6:00 am, with morning exercises at sunrise; the traditional Trepallina, a barbecue party in Vallaccia and the Transumanza (migratory herding), a cultural-gastronomic tour visiting the typical mountain huts called “Tee” in Federia Valley. The Suzuki Nine Knights will be a spectacular show, which will take place from the 5^th till the 10^th of April. The best freeskiers and snowboarders in the world will compete using spectacular tricks    in the legendary snow castle built with 120,000 cubic meters of snow with  jumps up to 50 meters set up at the Mottolino Fun Mountain. Some names? The winners of the X-GamesHalldor Helgason (ISL) and the Ståle Sandbech (NOR), in addition to great skiers like Jesper Tjäder (SWE) and Gus Kenworthy (USA). Furthermore 40 athletes will have access to qualifications sending their Sport-CV and so trying to  participate in the contest of the Suzuki Nine Knights filling out the form on the official webpage http://bit.ly/Nine_Knights_2015. 20 freeskiers and 20 snowboarders are going to be selected. And to stay in shape and work out Livigno has also become the capital of fitness. From 16^th to 22^nd of March starts theFitness Week which will be held at the Livigno Sports Fitness Centre. This is a whole week of zumba, aerodance, total body, aquafit and step classes, which are specially designed and prepared by Mattia Guida, professional dancer of hip hop, funky and modern jazz and professional instructor. The 50 minutes fitness classes cost for non-member 9 € per class, 20 € per day and 90 € for the whole week. For those with a membership card it costs  5 € per class, 15 € per day and 50 € for the whole week. In addition to the Fitness Week, you can take advantage of the fitness room completely equipped with Technogym machines and of the semi-Olympic swimming pool built with Myrtha technology.
