LIVIGNO IS READY FOR A NEW POWDER WEEKEND

While in the rest of the Italian Alps people are still waiting for the snow, the rich snowfalls of the last days in Livigno have brought more than 80cm in town and almost 2mt of snow on the peaks: Livigno amazes you with the best backountry areas, easily reachable with the lifts, or, for the more adventurous, with ski touring and skins and heliski.

Intense snowfalls this week has completely covered Livigno, turning the valley and surrounding peaks into a white lunapark. An irresistible attraction for lovers of skiing and snowboarding, that until now have had to curb their desire for powder, due to a particularly dry winter that is affecting the rest of Northern Italy. But luckily not Livigno, where you can ski on powder snow since beginning of December.

The snow fell again on Livigno, in particularly generous quantities, for a total of 81 cm in town and 198mt on peaks. A gift particularly appreciated by many winter sports enthusiasts who, in addition to cross-country skiing, with the ring in the center of the valley already open since October, and alpine skiing already started in December, choose Livigno also for freeride, ski touring and heliski, disciplines with a high level of adrenaline that allow a total immersion in nature.

Livigno indeed, has always been considered the reference point for those who love to test themselves on skis and the board even outside the groomed tracks, but always in safety. Since 2013, thanks to the Freeride Project, the destination promotes a series of initiatives dedicated to the approach and practice of skiing on powder snow with the help of Alpine guides, the rental of Avalanche Kit, a service of Heliski for skiing where nobody can arrive, and a daily Avalanche Buletin and Snow Quality Buletin to consult before going out, 

With its 115 km of skiarea and state-of-the-art lifts, equipped and awarded snowparks and the possibility to practice other snow disciplines such as snowshoes, fat biking and Nordic skiing and with Aquagranda Active You, one of the highest European centers dedicated to sport and relaxation at high altitude, Livigno combines competitive spirit, fun and pleasure to discover the area.
