LIVIGNO, TOMORROW OPENS MUS

Waited for thirty years, the museum of Livigno opens tomorrow at 20.30. Inside you will find items of peasant life, which are evidence of the history of the valley and its inhabitants.

It’s set  for tomorrow evening at 20.30 the opening of Mus, the museum which tells the story of Livigno, its people and its traditions. In a succession of rooms, you will have the feeling of doing a journey that starts from the peasant roots of Little Tibet arriving to the tourist boom and the construction of the first skiing facilities. A time span of less than a century, in which our valley has experienced a radical change that you can see at first hand thanks to this new facility created by the City in collaboration with the Mountain Community Alta Valtellina.

I am satisfied, it seemed to impossible to open this museum in six months, it was spoken for thirty years about it. This house will represent the home of all inhabitants of Livigno, it will be our soul - says Remo Galli, councilor for sports of the Municipality of Livigno, who personally followed the work on the Mus - I have to thank Luca Bonetti, museum expert, Alice Martinelli and Desiree Castellani, because we would never have made it without them, all the municipal administration and the mayor, who shared the project. Thanks also to the CMAV President Lele Cola, with which we get  significant resources for the restoration of the building. Nice to see the volunteers and our craftsmen working at the project…. thank you very much. During the first months the entry will be free, and for those who want to leave a small donation, we will reinvest it in the museum. We took this choice to  promote it as much as possible. The museum will be important for tourism as well, I'm sure about it. ”

Mus is situated on Via Domenion and is open daily from 15.30 to 19.30, except Saturday and Monday.
