LIVIGNO: THE FREERIDE PROJECT AND MANAGED TRAILS FOR A CONSCIOUS WINTER EXPERIENCE

The arrival of fresh snow has brought new enthusiasm among winter sports enthusiasts: from freeriding to managed trails dedicated to snowshoeing and ski mountaineering. In Livigno you can live snow experiences in an informed way, thanks to the avalanche bulletin and the daily information service about the snowpack conditions.

To support the growing number of hikers, who every day are passionate about freeriding, ski touring and snowshoeing, Livigno provides them with daily updated information on snow conditions in the resort, and on the quality of the snowpack, to promote an aware winter tourism. Conscious descents thanks to the Freeride Project With its 150 km2 of backcountry, Livigno offers huge expanses of soft, fresh snow ready to be ploughed by skis and snowboards.
The Freeride Project is Piccolo Tibet's initiative to support off-piste enthusiasts, who will be able to venture off-piste in an informed manner. At the base of the project there is the diffusion of the avalanche and snow quality bulletin, the daily appointment with all the updates on the resort: it can be consulted on the App Mylivigno, on the website livigno.eu/bollettino-valanche through more than 10 information screens in the village and on the slopes.

Managed trails for careful hiking.
The vast winter offer of Piccolo Tibet satisfies also the less experienced visitor, who doesn't want to renounce to fun and exploration. For budding hikers, there are the so-called managed trails, 12 itineraries marked with poles, suitable for those who want to gradually approach snowshoeing and ski mountaineering and enjoy the trip with fewer worries. The managed routes are real marked trails, constantly monitored and groomed at every new snowfall by the experts of the Freeride Office, to guarantee all visitors a pleasant and enjoyable experience on the snow, amidst splendid landscapes and magical atmospheres. Accessible also to less able hikers, the mountain can give great emotions thanks to the managed trails, also useful to the resort to monitor the flow of tourists. In this way, Livigno leads visitors to discover the beauty of the Alps through specially marked trails, thus safeguarding the surrounding area and reducing the impact of man on the local fauna and flora. In this regard, it is possible to enjoy these trails in the company of your four-legged friends, but only if kept on a leash.  

For those who want to try their hand at ski mountaineering, there are five dedicated trails, marked with blue and orange posts: Costaccia, Trepalle-LiCrapena, Croce Valandrea, Deschana and the new entry Carosello 3000, a route of almost five kilometres, of medium difficulty, which from the Cabonivia arrives at the Carosello 3000 refuge at an altitude of 2,740 metres. Those who prefer to immerse themselves in the silence of nature and leave the stress of everyday life behind them with an enjoyable snowshoe hike can choose from 7 scenic routes, marked by green and fuchsia poles, which allow you to venture independently among the wonders of the snow-covered woods: along the Plazéc path, Baitel da Plascianet, Crap de la Paré, Val delle Mine, Sentiero dell'Arte, Tee Val Federia and the flat route in the Dairy Area. and the flat route of the Dairy.
