Livigno, with its territory of immeasurable beauty, is an authentic huge multisport stadium in the open air.

Playing sports at high altitude is not only useful for sporting performances, but practicing it at 1816 meters, where nature and structures have merged into one, is really another level. Athletes of the most disparate disciplines have chosen Little Tibet to leave the last few weeks behind and to bring their body back to the best shape.

Cycling, for example, has elected Livigno and its mountain roads as a temple for high altitude training. Among the athletes who have made pleasant effort with road bikes we find Mark Cavendish and the Bahrain-McLaren team, as well as the national couple Elia Viviani and Elena Cecchini, that feels like home on the Livigno roads. On the cycle and pedestrian pach, on the other hand, the German marathon runner Katharina Heinig could be admired in her workouts while the Polish national rowing team chose Lake Livigno to train in the high ground.

There are also athletes who wanted to link their name to Livigno, that pampers them and hosts them time before the big teams. Among those who prepare the most important races of the season in Little Tibet (is so called because of its morphology the highest plateau in Europe and surrounded by spectacular peaks over 3000 m.) there is also Giulio Molinari, triathlete of the Livigno Team who has planned the preparation of swimming, cycling and running in Livigno in view of its next 2020 goals.

Under the agreement signed last year during the World Athletics Championships in Doha between Livigno and FIDAL, Italian middle-distance and marathon athletes have also arrived in Little Tibet, who will train during the months of July and August on the new track of athletics also taking advantage of the potential of the Aquagranda gym and the cycle and pedestrian path.

Aquagranda center, is a destination for many sportsmen and tourists, even the divineFederica Pellegrini returned to her high altitude training for a 10-day training session in the 25-meter swimming pool. Federica, like at home in Little Tibet, will finalize in Livigno the preparation started in Verona over a month ago, with her eyes on the imminent Settecolli Trophy. Still in Aquagranda, the presence of Valentina Diouf, the star of Italian volleyball, who chose the Valtellina location for a few days of training and relaxation, did not go unnoticed.

But that is not all. From 1st July in Livigno another sporting initiative was launched, the Livigno Active Challenge, a series of individual challenges on running, mtb, cycling, triathlon, enduro and downhill, which will award every month with interesting prizes, the best atlethes and amateurs that will upload their results on the dedicated page on the website www.livigno.eu/livignoactivechallenge.

Those who love sports do not need slogans, but opportunities to share their passion with many sportsmen in a place where hospitality is sacred.
