SEE YOU AGAIN SGAMBEDA. THE 31ST EDITION IS POSTPONED UNTIL 2021

The 31st edition of “Sgambeda” race has been postponed by a year due to the pandemic. The decision for the Visma Ski Classics circuit is still pending. Meanwhile, the first cross-country ski ring will be available in Livigno from 30 October.

“Leap year, gloomy year”. Many will say that it is only a proverb, but in this leap year, never a proverb is more appropriate. It was a difficult year for organizers and tourist promoters, who in many cases were first forced to postpone and subsequently cancel most of the sporting events.

Among these, with great regret, the organizing committee of Sgambeda must announce the cancellation of the 31st edition, scheduled for November 28th, due to the new spread of virus around the world. The health of athletes must always be put first and in this case, there would not have been the conditions to ensure maximum compliance with the anti-Covid protocols issued by the Government.

There remains the regret of the organizers for having had to postpone this famous event to 2021, which this year would have celebrated its 31st edition. A goodbye to next season is, in any case, a must, hoping to soon be able to host the skiers of Sgambeda race on the snow of Livigno.

The decision on the races of Visma Ski Classics circuit is currently pending, the organizers are interfacing daily with the Scandinavian organizers.

In the meantime, for those wishing to have fun with cross-country skis, Livigno announces that the first track will be ready from 30th October thanks to snow farming and artificial snow.
