Livigno opens the ski season

From Saturday November 18, skiers can have free fun on the first open slopes, skiing on a vertical drop of 800 m.

The ski season in Livigno begins two weeks in advance. From Saturday, November 18, the most eager skiers will be able to reach the peaks of Little Tibet thanks to the opening of the gondolas Livigno Centro – Tagliede – Costaccia  (No. 25 - 27) and Valandrea Vetta chairlift (n° 28).  After the long summer wait, they can vent their desire for snow on the slopes Bellavista, Cunabella, Buglin and Le Zete whose total vertical drop is 800 m. During this first weekend the access to the lifts will be completely free of charge.

Giovanni Cusini, CEO of Carosello 3000 / Sitas says, "We couldn’t resist.  After the last week ‘s snowfall of 50 cm, lots of enthusiastic skiers have sent messages asking for an early opening. In the last few days the optimal temperatures for snowmaking have allowed us to make this gift to Livigno’s guests. Congratulation to all the workers. They all gave it their very best to prepare the lifts and the slopes.”

Simultaneously with the opening of the first lifts, the mountain restaurant Rifugio Costaccia will be operational. Located at an altitude of 2360 m, at the top station of Livigno Centro gondola, this refreshment point has become a real culinary institution thanks to an original interpretation of the traditional Alpine cuisine.

In the meantime, we will continue to work at a fast pace to ensure the best conditions for the official opening scheduled for Friday, December 1, when, with the opening of many other ski lifts and slopes, the skipass rates of Livigno ski area will enter into force.

In order to continuosly update its customers, Carosello 3000 offers the Powder Alert service, that advise by email when Livigno get a good snowfall.

As regards the new Carosello 3000 gondola in San Rocco area, the testing phase will begin in the next few days, and we will give you soon an update on its opening.
