Curated by MUS!, the museum of Livigno and Trepalle, and set up in the unconventional, innovative space of the Aquagranda Active You! exhibition area, Ski (R)Evolution will open to the general public. The event kicks off a weekend of celebrations on occasion of the second anniversary of the Wellness&Relax Area.
Livigno is a reference point for skiing in the very heart of the Italian Alps thanks to its many well-known, state-of-the-art facilities and perfectly beaten slopes. The development and history of this sport, from equipment to ski lifts, has been the framework for designing and developing the new Ski (R)Evolution exhibition.
The inauguration ceremony will be held on Friday 1st March at 11:00a.m., and both the Livigno Team athletes and children from the schools in the area and the sporting club will be in attendance. Ski (R)Evolution will be displayed in the Aquagranda exhibition area, a space reserved for temporary events, and dedicated to the culture of sport both in Livigno and around the world, in line with Aquagranda’s dynamic, active spirit.
Pictures, items and works of art ranging from the culture of Livigno to the history of sport in all its many facets will be on display in this original setting.
Culture meets the fun, sport and relaxation of AQ through the continuous development of the temporary, dynamic character of the various setups - stimulating visitors’ minds and arousing their curiosity.
The amazingly rich collection of Sandro Mottini, ski instructor and a historical figure in the village, has made it possible for the curators to display over 140 pairs of skis: from the first rudimentary wooden models to the futuristic, coloured ones used prior to “carving”. The skis on display are from the worlds of both freestyle and cross-country skiing and the exhibition also features period images of the historic ski lifts of Livigno. Visitors can learn about details of the tools, too, and understand the changes in technique and sports culture over the last century by means of short introductory texts and captions.
And there’s more! The weekend will also be packed with events to celebrate the second anniversary of the opening of the Wellness&Relax Area.
Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd March 2019 will be packed with special events and surprises, but most of all wellbeing and relaxation: the best Aufguss masters of Italy will take part in association with AISA (the Italian Association of Saunas and Aufguss), carrying out rituals in both the saunas and steam rooms.
The traditional cutting of the cake has been scheduled for 6.00p.m. on Saturday, 2nd March and will be accompanied by a toast and rich buffet in the Aquagranda Active You! Wellness&Relax area. Moreover, there will be a 10% discount on all admissions during the two days of celebrations, and a 30% discount on admission to the Wellness&Relax Area for residents of the Province of Sondrio.
