LA SGAMBEDA 2017 IS A PARADE OF STARS. THE WHOLE 35 KM TRACK AVAILABLE

Italy's Livigno hosts 'La Sgambeda' race for the 28th time in history. Gjerdalen, Aukland, Debertolis, Norgren and Smutna among the many registered stars. Next Saturday 2 December the entire 35 km track will be available. Over 700 participants from 25 nations to gather at the start.

'We made it!'. La Sgambeda's OC cried out loud its satisfaction and proud when the entire 35 km track was set. Over 700 participants from 25 nations have already booked their bib to the 28th edition of the Italian event that is also part of the Visma Ski Classics series - the long-distance ski championship – and is jumping back on track next Saturday.

Snow conditions are simply perfect at the moment in Livigno. The race will kick off at 9.25 AM (Women's élite) while men's élite and all remaining skiers will follow at 10.00 AM on the dot. After a starting lap, competitors will have an intermediate sprint at 7 km and the KOM right before reaching the Alpe Vago area.

A real parade of XC skiing superstars is taking part into La Sgambeda 2017, and some of the names are:  Tord Asle Gjerdalen, Stian Hoelgaard, Morten Eide Pedersen, Anders Aukland, Andreas Nygaard, John Kristian Dahl, Markus Ottosson, Ilya Chernousov, Stanislav Rezác, Simen Østensen, Bruno Debertolis, Jörgen Brink,  Lukáš Bauer, Mauro Brigadoi, Loris Frasnelli, Eric Thomas, Eugeny Dementiev plus twin borthers, homeboys Nicolas Bormolini and Thomas Bormolini, both from the alpine city of Livigno.

On women's side, some of the skiers who already shined at the Visma Ski Classics opener in Switzerland have confirmed their presence on Saturday, such as Britta Johansson Norgren, Katerina Smutná, Sara Lindborg, Lina Korsgren, Franziska Müller, Astrid Øyre Slind, Evelina Bångman and Heli Heiskanen.

Race bib collection will start today at 2.00 PM until 7.00 PM in Plaza Placheda, where late entries might be submitted as well. Race office will open again on Friday at 9.00 AM and the Welcome Party Radio Montecarlo with dj set Harley & Muscle featuring Zoran will follow during the day. A free ticket will allow people to taste super delicious chicken " Galletto Vallespluga" and the Beer 1816 - La Birra di Livigno. Bib collection on Saturday morning as well, from 7.30 to 9.00. Pasta party and prize giving ceremony scheduled in the afternoon after the event (at 2.30 PM).
