After a 2019 of great successes connected to the world of sport and major competitions, including the conquest of the title of European Sport Municipality 2019 and the election of the snowboard and freestyle competitions for the Winter Olympics Milano Cortina 2026, Livigno starts this 2020 conquering an increasingly important role in the world of Snowboarding.
Already designated for the European Snowboarding Cup and confirmed for the events of this 2020, home of big world echo events such as the World Rookie Fest, the most famous youth snowboard contest, Livigno is preparing to host a truly important competition related to the world of snowboarding, the Parallel Snowboarding World Cup Race.
From Sunday, March 8, 2020, the Piccolo Tibet will open its doors to world champions, who until March 9 can finish their preparation on the slopes of Livigno and participate in activities reserved exclusively for them.
The spotlight will be on Livigno during the whole day of Tuesday, March, 10: location of the race will be the "Campo Scuola nr.23", where Scuola Sci Centrale Livigno is located. Startin at 09:00 with the qualifications, until 11:00, to leave the place, from 13:00 to 14:30, to the finals, which will be broadcast live on TV on Rai channels and several foreign broadcasters.
The full list of participants in this prestigious competition will be held only in February, but the presence of Maurizio Bormolini, home athlete and of Livigno Team, is certain. With this competition, he will symbolically begin to walk the road that will lead him, always in Livigno, to the Winter Olympics of Milano Cortina 2026. Moreover, for Maurizio, the Livigno's race can be the decisive race to win the speciality cup.
In the general cup ranking updated to date, as many as 5 Italian athletes occupy a place among the top 10 positions: next to Maurizio Bormolini there are Roland Fischnaller (at the top of the ranking), Daniele Bagozza, Edwin Coratti and Mirko Felicetti, who we will surely see among the protagonists of the Livigno race on March,10.
