BIKE PARK MOTTOLINO – THE NEW 13TH TRAIL

The bike park Mottolino is a beautiful creature which is continuously evolving: 10 years of history to build one of the best gravity park in Italy with facilities for all levels. After completion of the red trail EAS23, here the new project ready to let the wheels spin: back to the experts’ focus with the strengthening of the drops and the magic 13th trail, a black trail just to be enjoyed!

The team of Mottolino is at work on the new downhill track which is dedicated only to the more experienced rider, which will start from the gondola to reach the emerald valley of Livigno. It will be developed on different types of soil, according to the trails’ peculiarities of  the bike park Livigno: the upper part will mainly follow the shape of the ground, for a more natural riding as required by the "old school" of DH. This first section will be completed by next summer, while the lower part of the trail will already be available from August offering the bikers its powerful facilities that result in a drop in the final turn. Updates of the ongoing work are published on the Mottolino Facebook page: www.facebook.com/MottolinoFunMountain.

If the current trend is the flow country, Mottolino doesn’t stop here: a new 4 meters drop was unveiled last week, which is the equivalent to the "smallest" ramp of the Nine Knights MTB castle. Who wants to experience the thrill of being a knight, has the chance to try this magnificent structure.

Mottolino is the ideal destination for MTB and gravity athletes: in the last few days some park fans could ride together with the pro such as the Olympic bronze medalist Marco Aurelio Fontana and downhillers Torquato Testa and Diego Caverzasi, who after having participated last year in the Nine Knights return periodically to train on the most difficult trails. But who better than the Livigno ambassadors can speak about the Bike Park Mottolino? Among the park often ride the legendary Hans Rey, Danny MacAskill and the Italian Vittorio Brumotti, who in the last years won several Guinness awards.

Who wants to become like the professionals, who ride in the bike park Mottolino, there are more than 20 km of trails divided in 3 levels of difficulty, in addition to the Jump Area, the North Shore and the Big Air Bag. Thanks to the freeride school  Madness you can also improve your technique: skilled instructors and bike guides are available to help you by making …the jump!
