LIVIGNO BIKEPASS

All you need now to use those ski lifts in the resort with MTB transportation is a single card: BikePass! Valid both at Mottolino and Carosello 3000, the card will enable all visitors to try out the many different ways in which they can bike in Livigno, from downhill to flow country, from e-bike to fat bike. New features include BikePass Free, too, where the card will be issued free of charge to guests staying at the resort.

A ski pass? No. What you want in summer is our BikePass! Livigno’s newest feature for summer 2017 is a pass reserved for bikers, who will be able to access all the Mottolino and Carosello 3000 ski lifts using the same card. From a daily fee of €37.00 (€26.00 reduced fare) to a multi-day card with no limits for going up on the ski lifts, down to the bike park and cycling along the many flow trails mapped out especially for MTBs.

But this isn’t all, our Bike Pass Free offers will be valid from 10th to 23rd June and from 16th September to 1st October, where guests will receive a complimentary BikePass if they book 3 nights in a hotel or 7 nights in a flat in one of the BIKE Hotel&Apartments structures. Detailed information will soon be available on the livigno.eu website.

Livigno, considered to be one of the world capitals for mountain-biking, offers the trails, structures and services suited to any kind of biker. There are 13 trails to choose from to Mottolino, blue ones to approach the discipline and learn the technique, and red ones which are divided into 2 categories: either smoother and easier or more technical with roots, jumps and stones. There are also black trails for professionals and lastly the opportunity to try out new evolutions such as the huge inflatables located at the arrival point of the telecabin. There is no age limit for accessing the bike-park, and visitors can rent the special equipment necessary on site as well as benefit from the support of a guide.

There are 25km of trails suitable for all levels of riding at Carosello 3000 which, added to the pre-existing trails, offers users a descent which exceeds an overall difference in altitude of 3500 metres. These trails are currently part of the Tutti Frutti Epic, a 45km tour. The cable cars and chair lifts mean there are only a few hundred metres uphill, so it is accessible to anyone, not just qualified riders like the leading figures in the video: Hans Rey and Brian Lopes. Bikers of all levels can enjoy the flow feeling, similar to that of a helter skelter, on trails which are perfect for mountain-bikes - mountains, enduro and cross-country.

In all, Livigno boasts over 3200km of routes mapped out using a GPS system for the Bike Tours&Track, where visitors can venture out accompanied by expert bike guides, professional instructors for freeride, downhill and cross country and, why not, e-bike and fat bike, too.

Those of our visitors who choose to remain in the village can pedal along cycle lanes equipped with a bike service, or train in the bike skill centre, from June to September, where the instructors teach kids and teens how to manage their balance, brakes and gears thanks to routes set out for varying levels of skill on wooden walkways.

Visitors can also have fun trying out the pump tracks at the bike skill centre, consisting of parabolic curves and downhill runs using their arms and legs only, rather than pedalling. These routes are suitable for everyone, from expert cyclists who want to fine tune their technique, to beginners who want to learn the basics of mountain biking.

There are many bike rental centres in Livigno, too, with their own workshops, mechanics and the very best offers for the latest models available on the market. We also have 26 bike hotels and apartments with special services for enthusiasts, such as a laundry and storage areas for equipment.

Those keen on road biking will also find plenty to do in Livigno. Indeed, we offer the opportunity to pedal along those alpine passes which have made cycling history, from Stelvio, to Gavia, Mortirolo to Bernina. Livigno is at the very centre of a packed itinerary which runs between Alta Valtellina and Engadina, in the heart of the Parco Nazionale dello Stelvio (Stelvio national park) and the Swiss National Park.

Livigno will also be at the Bike Festival in Riva del Garda as of 28th April in order to launch the biking season which opens on 10th June for Mottolinio and 24th June for Carosello 3000.
