Access to the lifts
You can reach comfortably The Mountain Park using the ski lifts; during the 2017 summer, it will be accessible only via Livigno Centro - Tagliede Gondola (Ostaria street) *. When you arrive to the restaurant Rifugio Costaccia, you can get to the mountain peaks using the chairlift Vetta (adjacent to the Costaccia) or Blesaccia II (2,5 km away). Both chairlifts can be used for transportation of mountain bikes.
*During the 2017 summer, the gondola Carosello 3000 San Rocco (and the namesake restaurant at the top station) will be closed for renovations. Anyway, all the trails will be open and accessible through the chairlifts Vetta and Blesaccia II.
Mountain-biking
The Mountain Park Carosello 3000 offers more than 50 km of trails, divided into newly built tracks exclusively designed for mountain biking, and old pre-existing paths. The trails are suitable for all skill levels and for Enduro, all mountain and XC bikes.
This summer’s big news is “Tutti Frutti Epic Tour”. The guided MTB tour, created in cooperation with the freeride pioneer Hans Rey, is captured in a video starring the same Hans and the multiple world champion from the USA, Brian Lopes. This four-hour guided tour is realized together with “Livignobike” guides who will start out every day at 10 am from “Rifugio Costaccia”. “Tutti Frutti Epic Tour” and other shorter excursions, “Flow MTB” and “Mountain Wonders”, can be purchased directly at the ticket office of the gondola Livigno Centro or at the Mountain Bike Skill Center in Bondi street.
Meanwhile, a new MTB trail is already under construction on the rocky terrain, near the Blesaccia peak. The opening of the new trail is scheduled for late July. All those who signed up for the Trail Alert E-mail Service will receive photo and video previews.
Hiking
Here in the mountains, nature is king. There are shady paths in the larch woods, trails that reach the alpine ridges, observation points with incredible views over the valley, and even descents into the magical and uncontaminated Federia Valley: you will have plenty of choice in planning your excursions in accordance with your walking abilities and the time available.
Trail Running
The Mountain Park Carosello 3000 and the ridges of the adjacent Federia Valley are the scene of “Livigno Sky Marathon”. This shows that here the fans of mountain running can find the right terrain to practice this sport activity in the best way. The main routes, which stretch over 75 km, all situated at an altitude of more than 2000 m, are included in a Trail Guidebook realized in cooperation with the specialized magazine “Soul Running” and it is downloadable free of charge from Carosello 3000’s website. The guidebook contains the maps and the descriptions of the trails situated in the border area between Italy and Switzerland, as well as links to GPS tracks and a number of useful tips for high altitude training.
Food & Family
Located near the top station of the gondola Livigno Centro, “Rifugio Costaccia” is the main place to enjoy both the Valtellina cuisine and a spectacular view over the valley and the lake of Livigno. Either you want to take a break during your sport activities or to spend a relaxing day in the mountains, “Rifugio Costaccia”, with its large outdoor terrace with barbecue and its excellent restaurant with open kitchen and wood-burning cookers, will be an ideal solution for you.
Outside the restaurant, you can find a large family area with children's playground, a new adventure itinerary with Tibetan bridges, an MTB skill center, and a track for balance bikes that allow kids to develop the basic MTB skills.
