TEAM TINKOFF SAXO TRAINS IN LIVIGNO FOR THE TOUR DE FRANCE

Following a victorious Giro d'Italia, Alberto Contador together with a number of Tinkoff-Saxo riders take advantage of the mountains around the famous Italian Alpine resort to recover and carry out high-altitude training in view of the upcoming Tour de France.

Thanks to the Tinkoff Sport Academy, cycling fans will have the unique opportunity to participate in training camps in Livigno, during the months of July and August.

Known as "Little Tibet", the Livigno area is the point of reference for all athletes that want to train in high altitude. It is no coincidence that Tinkoff-Saxo and its leader, Alberto Contador, chose it as their high-altitude base in order to prepare for the season's most daunting race, the Tour de France.

Tinkoff-Saxo's riders are staying in Livigno and Trepalle, which holds the record for the highest permanent settlement in the Alps. Situated, respectively, at 1,836m and 2,070m, they provide easy access to several famous alpine passes such as Stelvio, Foscagno, Forcola, Gavia and Mortirolo.

For the first time ever, cycling fans will also have the unique opportunity to train like a Grand-Tour winner during the months of July and August, thanks to the training camps of the brand new Tinkoff Sport Academy. A total of 4 weekly camps (July 4 to 11, July 11 to 18, August 1 to 8 and August 29 to September 5) will be open to all cyclists with a decent fitness level.

Participants in the Tinkoff Sport Academy programs will be divided in 2-3 subgroups, with similar features and performance levels. That way, all participants will be able to undertake physical activity in the best way while maintaining the concept of collective work. For each weekly session there will be a minimum of 8 and a maximum of 20 participants.

Tinkoff-Saxo will provide a trainer, mechanic and masseur. All sport activities and related services will start at the team's headquarters in Aquagranda.
