The Telemark Club Livigno, together with the Tourist Office Livigno and the Skipass Association Livigno, will celebrate, from the 21st to the 28th March 2015, the twenty-first edition of LA SKIEDA, the Telemark event par excellence, able to gather in Livigno telemarkers from all over the world. This year the main theme will be the COMIC!
Just few days before the start of the most awaited week for telemarkers, the program 2015 has been defined and it is full of news: next to the historical events, there are several new comic theme appointments. Let's see them in detail.
Like every edition of LA SKIEDA, the welcome in Livigno for all telemarkers will be held at the 'Welcome Party' - Aperol Spritz - Live Music on Saturday 21st March at Plaza Placheda, starting from 17:00. Another unmissable event will be host always in Plaza Placheda, on Sunday 22nd March at 20:00 o’clock , and it will be the Gala Dinner of LA SKIEDA 2015 that the Group of Chefs and Pastry Chefs of Livigno this year has labeled as 'Saör da Skieda' - Skieda flavours. This is a great novelty for LA SKIEDA 2015, with the menu completely reinterpreted according to the Livigno’s tradition, masterfully explained in the book 'Lèina da Saör' - An avalanche of taste.
Lot of space for the TELE EXPO and TELE TEST: all the XXI edition sponsors of LA SKIEDA will gather in Plaza Placheda in Livigno on Saturday, Sunday and Monday 21st 22nd and 23rd March, in order to present the new technical articles and new lines of technical clothes for telemark, ski mountaineering and freeride lovers. We anticipate some brands: K2 SKIS, TIMBERLAND, LA SPORTIVA, SCOTT, VOLKL DALBELLO, ATK RACE, HESTRA, DEUTER, GUASTO, THE NORTH FACE, SCARPA, 22DESIGN/G3, MOON LIGHT SKIS, BALCK DIAMOND, GIPRON, ZEAL OCCHIALI, DEVOLT, ELEVENATE and main sponsor PEAK PERFORMANCE. A unique preview of clothes and equipment for the 2015-2016 season, don’t miss it!
Additionally, after the success of previous editions, all the telemarkers will experience unique and unforgettable emotions with the SUN RISING at the Passo d'Eira on Monday 23rd March...the best way to start a day in the snow with the morning workout at dawn, starting from 06:00.
Emotions never end. Throughout La SKIEDA 2015 week, lots of micro events will be organized, where the protagonists - characters of skiing and telemark world, photographers, film-makers, writers, poets, creative talents – will perform their shows!
“Historical” events that have always characterized the International Telemark Festival Livigno won’t miss. Tuesday 24th March, starting from 12:00 there will be the 'Trepallina' event, the most famous barbecue party on the snow, long awaited by all fans of telemark skiing in the beautiful setting of Vallaccia. Thursday 26th March, from 10:00 will start the 'Transumanza', the cultural/culinary excursion among the so called “Tee”, that are typical mountains huts of Val Federia; this event will end with live music in the “Al Chestel” area.
Even this edition of LA SKIEDA will be accompanied by the long awaited ‘Epoque' exhibition, on Friday 27th March at the “Scuola Sci Centrale” slope, where the best telemarkers teams from all around the world will compete on the snow with vintage equipment and clothes.
The “Recycling Dinners” are confirmed too, that are the traditional events dedicated to the recycling of all the cooking utensils, and dinner at high altitude, at the M'Eating Point Mottolino, scheduled for Wednesday 25th at 20:30.
Among the new events of the XXI edition, entirely dedicated to comics, there are great expectations for the race 'Superman & Wonder Woman' - organized in collaboration with the Skipass Association of Livigno, historical sponsor of LA SKIEDA - that will reward the telemarker that, on Wednesday 25th March, will cover the highest number of slopes kilometers, using skilifts, chairlifts and gondolas of the whole Livigno ski area.
The Telemark Club Livigno then launches the 'COMIC'S GOT TALENT'. The event, along the same lines of the famous television program, consists of an artistic performance, feasible by individual, couples or groups, which will have, as its main theme, comic strips, their characters or their atmospheres. All the telemarkers are invited to give vent to their creativity to surprise us with performance at high altitude.
An innovative event of this edition of LA SKIEDA 2015 is 'Icaro...and the snow alchemy'. Our dear telemarker friend Icaro and his extraordinary relationship with the mountains and the White Lady, will be remembered with a series of images, commented by Karin Pizzini, that within the Icaro Project is promoting the Freeride safety program for children and kids. Karin will be joined by Fabiano Monti of ALPsolut, project manager of the "Freeride Livigno - Feel the powder", which will explain in a simple and effective way, the measures, preparations, methods and curiosities to learn more about the snow and its hidden dangers.
But novelties don’t end up here. For the twenty-first edition of LA SKIEDA, the Telemark Club Livigno launches the 'COMICS TELEMARK CONTEST': all the enrolled telemarkers are invited to create a comic strip, with a maximum of 5 frames, on the theme "Flok and Floka at La Skieda 2015", using the characters created by the International School of Comics of Brescia.
