Four months before the race the organising committee opens the entries. A three-day of full immersion for cross-country skiing in Livigno with champions & amateurs. On Friday 30th November and on Sunday 2nd December opening stages of Visma Ski Classics. On Saturday 1st the “Sgambeda” in free technique, an event not to be missed
On the hottest days of the year it’s funny to think about registering for a cross-country skiing competition. In fact, today entries to "Sgambeda" of Livigno are open. The race will take place from 30th November to 2nd December with two opening races of the welcomed and rich circuit Visma Ski Classics for the champions, and a race for the amateurs that will take place on Saturday in free technique, while on Sunday there will be the traditional 30 km in classic.
The three days of race in Livigno will celebrate its 29th edition. The event will certainly please a wide range of cross-country skiers, in a period when it is difficult to find snow to ski.
The planned track is the classic one, which also last year gave great emotions. Andreas Nygaard - after an awesome race - struggled to the end coming ahead of a number of other Norwegian competitors in a final sprint, while Britta Johansson Norgren won the ladies race adding an important piece to the puzzle of victories that saw her triumph at the end of the season in the Visma Ski Classics challenge.
David Nilsson, the general manager of the long-distance circuit, has once again chosen the double event in Livigno for the first stage of Visma Ski Classics and this is a great opportunity that cross-country skiers can’t miss, from November 30th to December 2nd, an event that makes it possible to "warm up" in view of the season.
Friday 30th there will be the Pro Team Prologue only for pros. The race will take place along the track inside the cross-country stadium of Livigno. On Saturday, December 1st, there will be the welcomed return of skating on the snow of Alta Valtellina, a 30 km race open to all but basically to amateurs, while on Sunday, December 2nd, there will be the Individual Prologue only for pros.
The interest for this first period of entries is also ignited by the reduced fee of 50 euros, from today until 14th October, and the possibility of being among the first thousand participants – for them there will be a precious race package.
The 'Little Tibet' will play a great role on the snow already on Friday, August 24th with a spectacular event, the “Palio delle Contrade” and the 1K Shot, in which great champions will participate.
