TOMORROW IS SGAMBEDA TIME!

All set for the 26th edition of the Nordic skiing marathon of the circuit  Visma Ski Classics. New course completely on artificial snow. At the start line 900 cross country skiers, including Giorgio Di Centa.

For the occasion, Livigno reveals the names of his testimonials 2015/16 and hits the first victory in the Biathlon World Cup with the new entry Dorothea Wierer.

Tomorrow kicks off the weekend dedicated to La Sgambeda, the international Nordic skiing marathon. The 26th edition of the race, which since last year has been inserted in the circuit Visma Ski Classics, is taking place on a new course due to the lack of natural snow fell in the Alps. Thanks to a great work of the organizers, it was possible to set up a ring of 6 km covered with artificial snow, which will be repeated by athletes for 4 laps, reaching the 24 km of La Sgamebda Classic on Sunday.

On Saturday,  the Prologue Team race is on a 5 km circuit to be repeated 3 times. And for the little ones, the appointment is with Minisgambeda (5 December 2015), with a courses from 1 to 5 km, which are suitable for both young athletes and kids who want to approach to cross-country skiing.

Also the Olympic champion in Turin 2006, Giorgio Di Centa, who was in Livigno for a training camp with the Italian Team. is taking part in LA Sgambeda. Livigno colours will be defended by Thomas and Nicolas Bormolini, who compete in the circuit Visma Ski Classics with Team Futura. Today at 16:00 is held the press conference Visma Ski Classic at the Ski Classic production control room situated near the finish/start line. On the occasion of La Sgambeda, Livigno has announced the names of the athletes who have been chosen as testimonials for the season 2015/2016. Near our athletes there are other from different locations, such as the biathlon champion Dorothea Wierer, who yesterday hit the first victory in the Biathlon World Cup in Oestersund, Sweden.

Dorothea is dynamic, cheerful, beautiful and successful - says Luca Moretti, President of APT Livigno – reflecting perfectly our resort. Additionally, biathlon is a sport discipline that we want to strengthen, further expanding the dedicated facility. In Livigno there are several guys who practice this sport at a competitive level and some of them are already National Team Member. Our aim is to support them more and more. "

The testimonials of Livigno, in addition to Wierer, are Roberto Nani (alpine skiing), Thomas Bormolini (biathlon), Saverio Zini (biathlon), Paul Rodigari (biathlon), Simone Urbani (cross country), Thomas and Nicolas Bormolini (cross country),  Jole Galli (alpine skiing), Maurizio Bormolini (snowboard), Bruno Mottini (freeride), Luca Ferioli (freestyle), Giuliano Bordoni (freeride) and the Freestyle Team composed by Ian Rocca, Tobia Silvestri, Yuri Silvestri, Ema Galli .

Starting from this weekend in Livigno you can ski on 30 km of a total of 115 km of slopes at the price of 24 euro for the day. Those who choose a formula of a  4-night stay in hotel or a 7 night stay in apartment,  will get the skipass for free, thanks to the promotion "Skipass Free" (the promotion is valid only in the participating  structures, for more info: www.livigno.eu ). The cross-country track of 6 km (of a total of 30) is open and available free of charge.
