CHAMPIONS’ SPRINGTIME IN LIVIGNO: GOGGIA, BRIGNONE AND PELLEGRINI ARE ALL TRAINING IN LITTLE TIBET

Little Tibet still offers the perfect conditions for enjoying a few days of training and fun on skis on the eve of Easter and the long spring break. Until 1st May, visitors will be able to take advantage of our Skipass Free offer, enjoy the last few skiing sessions of the season and savour the taste of the Italian Alps. The luckiest of our guests will even be able to watch the training sessions of Sofia Goggia and Federica Brignone and of the many other champions who will be training in Livigno over the next few weeks.

This year winter doesn’t seem to want to give way to summer in Livigno. Whilst several mountain resorts have already said goodbye and see you next season, Little Tibet looks as if it’s just been whitewashed and its perfect, snow-covered slopes still offer excellent conditions for practicing a range of winter sports, from skiing to snowboarding.

These exceptional conditions mean it will be possible for visitors to ski for the entire month of April, and even through to 5th May on some slopes. Indeed, the facilities on the Mottolino side will remain open until 28th April, whilst visitors will be able to ski on the slopes of Carosello 3000 until 1st May. There was great enthusiasm when confirmation arrived from the SITAS Ski Area that, due to a day ticket, ski lovers would be offered the chance to enjoy the spring snow until 5th May.

The snow that’s fallen over the past few days has irresistible appeal, for amateurs and professionals alike, and the elite group of the national women's Alpine Skiing Team has chosen Livigno for a high-altitude meet-up. As of tomorrow it’ll be possible to meet two of the spearheads of the team both on the slopes and in the streets of Livigno, namely Olympic champion Sofia Goggia and Federica Brignone, with their coaches Gianluca Rulfi and Marcello Tavola.

The two athletes may even return to train on the slopes of Livigno after Easter, while the presence of multi-medalist Swiss Alpine skiing champion Lara Gut has already been confirmed for next week.

It’s not only the snow that attracts so many champions to Little Tibet either. Located on a natural plateau at 1816m a.s.l., Livigno is well-known for offering excellent conditions for refining athletic training with altitude training sessions all year round. Until 27th April the Italian National Swimming team coached by Matteo Giunta with Federica Pellegrini, Luca Pizzini, Rachele Ceracchi, Carlotta Zofkova, Simone Sabbioni and Lorenzo Glessi will also be based in Livigno for training. For several years now, the 25m pool of the Aquagranda Fitness & Pool area - Active You! has hosted Federica Pellegrini and her teammates’ high-altitude training sessions and they will soon return to prepare for the summer competitions after a short break.

Do the perfectly snow-covered slopes, snow parks and countless opportunities for fun for the whole family make you feel you can put off trying your swimming-costume on for a little while longer? Thanks to our Skipass free promotion, valid until 1st May, even the fans and lovers of skis and snowboarding will be able to postpone the first few sunbathing sessions and swims in the sea and give in to the temptation of skiing down the slopes a few more times. The offer, valid for stays of at least 4 nights in a hotel or 7 nights in a flat in one of the affiliated facilities, entitles visitors to one free ski pass per person. To make use of the offer, simply choose the accommodation you’d like by accessing the livigno.eu website and booking online or contacting affiliated facilities directly.
