MOGULS EUROPEAN CUP TITLES ASSIGNED: LIVIGNO OPENS THE FOUR-YEAR OLYMPIC PERIOD WITH A TWO-DAY EVENT TO REMEMBER.

Last stage of the season for the moguls European Cup and first event organized by Livigno that will host the freestyle competitions also in 2026: a real taste of the Games.

It has been a great first appointment, the one between Livigno and freestyle, whose success already gives a glimpse of the great show we will see in less than four years, on the occasion of the Olympic Games in Milan Cortina 2026. The resort, in fact, hosted the final stage of the European Cup of moguls and dual moguls, starting to get familiar with a circuit, the freestyle one, which will look at Livigno snow with particular attention during the next seasons. Today's event was the first official one in the long journey towards the Five Circles, experienced shoulder to shoulder with the delegations of the Foundation Milano Cortina 2026 and of the Lombardy Region, arrived in Livigno for the occasion.

Particularly interesting was the slope hosting the competition, the Zuelli slope of the ski-area Carosello 3000, which will award the Olympic medals, both for moguls and aerials, and which started its journey towards 2026. A slope that, according to athletes and technicians, immediately proposed a very high level, proving to be technically complex and challenging especially in terms of slope and jumps. Livignaschi, in addition to the snow, was also responsible for the construction of the slope and part of his team, testifying to the deep historical ties and great technical and organisational know-how that binds the resort to the freestyle disciplines.

Loris Leoni, former athlete and trainer, nowadays esteemed expert in the construction of this kind of structures, with already several Olympic participations behind him, directed the works, supported by, among the others, the former freestyle Olympic Simone Galli, Italian protagonist in Salt Lake City 2002 and Turin 2006, and Luca Ferioli, another native of Livigno and former national tricolour, always in freestyle.

The perfect setting, to allow the athletes to express the best of their potential, in a final stage that put the seal on the 2022 season. On Wednesday 16th March, in the moguls competition, the winner was the Austrian Katharina Ramsauer, born in 1995, among the women, and the young Swedish Filip Gravenfors, just seventeen years old, among the men.
Gravenfors came close to a double on Thursday, finishing second behind Britain's Mateo Jeannesson in the dual moguls race. A great performance in the big finals was decisive for Mateo's success, allowing him to confirm his podium position after his third place in yesterday's race. On the other hand, in the women's dual moguls, Swedish triumph with the 2000 class My Bjerkman and the 2003 class Moa Gustafson respectively first and second, and third place for the Swiss Nicole Gasparini, who thus closes the last podium of the season.

Results that also put an end to the European Cup, which saw its winners awarded in the beautiful location of Livigno, home of the next Olympic Games. To win the final title were: the Swedish Ramsus Stegfeldt and the French Fantine Degroote, in the moguls; the German Hanna Weese and the usual Gravenfors in the dual moguls.
