Great success for the second edition of the 3K UP & DOWN 2016 on the flow country trails of Carosello3000 in Livigno.
Over 5170km in total made by the participants.
Great success for the second edition of the 3K UP & DOWN, which brought 100 riders on the new trails of the Mountain Park Carosello3000 in Livigno, all chasing the Lupato brothers.
The riders made over 5170km, a record made out of the desire to never stop, enjoying the most out of the challenge launched by 3K.
Also this time the event format was an outcome: on the routes you could see riders on bikes such as front-bikes XC, fat bikes, some DH and of course many enduro; you could see riders go almost without stopping more than 100km throughout the whole day, as well as others which represented the most festive spirit of the 3K between pauses to capture moments with their smartphones, but also to share a beer.
There were athletes of all different ages, from 12 to 70 years old: in fact, the stopwatch doesn't count, but it's the ability to have fun that really matters.
Matteo and Stefano Rota were the ones who beat the record; in 7 hours they made 120 km with approximately 12,000 meters in altitude: an exciting result achieved with a smile.
The “3K Top Speed”, made using the mobile app my3000, allowed to register and reward the highest speed, which exceeded 70kmh: Stefano Gallo collected the first prize offered by Carosello3000.
The event, organized by 3Parentesi (www.3parentesi.it) was made possible thanks to Carosello3000, Crankbrothers, Rose Bikes and Ethen.
With 20 km of newly constructed MTB trails (and others being planned), in addition to 20 km of existing nature trails and various trails dedicated exclusively to hikers and trail runners, the Mountain Park Carosello 3000 appears as one of the largest and the most organized areas served by ropeway transport in Italy and Europe where one can enjoy outdoor sports.
