FUN IN THE SNOW FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY IN LITTLE TIBET!

There are no limits to skiing in Livigno, neither in terms of the routes available nor age! Little Tibet is the ideal resort for welcoming children and helping them take their first few steps on the snow. This is especially true during our Family Weeks in January and March, when a range of family discounts is available. A sports event for youngsters which mustn’t be missed, and is enormous fun in terms of slopestyle and snowboarding, is the World Rookie Fest from 12th to 16th January.

Throughout the winter, Livigno turns into a massive playground for children as there are many different areas in which little ones can socialise and enjoy a range of experiences, both educational and those simply for fun. Our mascot, Lupigno, the good wolf of Livigno, will entertain children on the rides, trampolines, inflatables and treadmills (baby-lifts). Kindergarten Lupigno is a kindergarten with two separate areas, one indoors and one out, built entirely for children. This is a safe place where they can enjoy themselves in the company of other children and where, as of the age of 3, they can play with and get used to being in the snow. The kindergarten works in association with the ski school, thanks to a team of over 150 professional instructors who are ready to guide children taking their first few steps in the snow. Our team does this with the help of treadmills and also offers personalised lessons for both individuals and groups. Livigno is a reference point for families for both skiing and snow and for the entire season during which the facilities are open, children under 8 years of age are entitled to a free skipass if accompanied by two paying adults.

For those who enjoy being at high altitude, the M'eating Point Mottolino kindergarten is definitely the best choice. A large space organised and run by qualified staff where the kindergarten can be accessed by all children aged 3 to 7 (very young children can attend if accompanied) free of charge. It is located in the Ski Area Mottolino Fun Mountain which was recently extended through the addition of two new ski lifts. One of the first new features of this area is a 6-seater Yepi Lift chairlift, complete with guard rail and a treadmill which automatically adjusts in height to make it easier for little ones to get off. It provides direct access to the children's area where the new playground and educational trail are located and where they can ski with our mascot, Yepi.

Livigno does not only offer children the opportunity to ski and board, but there are also a whole host of other winter sports options for families. Indeed, they can rent out a "Charriot", a special chair designed and built on skis for transporting kids aged 0 to 6 years. We also have mini Fat Bikes for children, which they can ride safely on the beaten pedestrian pathway that runs through the entire village, and a large playground just for kids. As of this year, it will also be possible for children to try out the biathlon assisted by highly qualified instructors.

Fun with water is not just for summer, as our Aquagranda Active You! Centre which was awarded TripAdvisor’s Certificate of Excellence 2018, features a huge water playground in the Slide&Fun area for both adults and children. There is a baby pool for little ones aged 0-3 years with a babysitting service guaranteed by our expert animators, a magic castle with water slides, three 100m high-adrenaline water slides that wind in and out of the structure, four whirlpools and water jets - enormous fun for children. There is also the entire wellness area for the whole family with a sauna, steam bath and family Hammam. The kindergarten babysitting service in the water is available every day (except Saturdays) from 4 to 6 pm. The area is open every day from 10a.m. to 10p.m., and every Wednesday there is special opening until midnight. For info and admission fees, please go to aquagrandalivigno.com.

For more curious kids, we offer a range of options that mix fun and learning: from guided tours of the calves' stalls to get in touch with nature, to MUS!, the Museum of Livigno and Trepalle to take a dip into the history of the village, and on to the dairy of Livigno where visitors can take a tour and taste all the milk-based products made there.

Every year during winter, Livigno offers a range of activities created especially for families. In 2019, the Family Week Kids Go Free will run from 26th January to 2nd February and 23rd to 30th March, offering family-sized discounts and a very special format: a first child up to 12 years in age accompanied by two paying adults, will be able to stay at a hotel completely free of charge (or have a 15% discount in an apartment), as well as benefit from a skipass, ski rental and school. Each additional child born as of 2007 (once again accompanied by two paying adults), will benefit from a 50% discount on the rates they would normally be charged. Children up to 3 can enjoy free entry to Aquagranda.

As for accommodation, on the other hand, we have our Family Hotel&Apartments. These structures have been carefully designed to meet all the requirements of a family holiday. Childcare comes first thanks to a baby sitting service, paediatric assistance, laundry, baby menu, playgrounds, the availability of strollers, bikes with child seats, backpacks and sleds.
