TRAINING CAMP IN LIVIGNO FOR THE MALE ITALIAN CANOE AND KAYAK NATIONAL TEAM

Our Italian athletes are training in the gym and the pool of the sports center Aquagranda – Active You. Starting from next week are planned canoeing sessions on the Livigno’s lake. The team will be in the Little Tibet until October 24 for high-altitude training sessions.

Until Saturday, October 24, 2015, the Azzurri of the canoe and kayak team are engaged in a training camp in Livigno to train for the new season 2016 which will end with the European Championship in Duisburg (Germany), on 18 and 19 May 2016. It represents the last chance to get the green light for Olympic qualification. The sessions also include athletic training at Aquagranda Active You, that is the highest sport center in Europe, where the canoeists will train in the pool and in the gym using a Kayak ergometers. The practical training with canoes and kayaks takes place on the Lake of Livigno, at an altitude of 1,816 meters.

Athletes attending the training camp:

Giulio Dressino: Canoe and Kayak, won bronze at the world championships 2014 and European Championship U23 2014.

Nicola Ripamonti: K2 1000, won European Championship U23 in 2010 and the 1st place  at the Mediterranean Games in 2013.

Matteo Florio: Kayak 200, won European Championship 1000 U23 in 2010 and the 2nd and 3rd place at the World Championships in 2014.

Matteo Torneo: K1 1000, World Champion K2 1000 U23 in 2014.

Luca Incollingo: Canoe and Kayak, won bronze at European Championship and Gold and Bronze in World Cup 2015.

Daniele Santini: Canoe and Kayak, won bronze at European Championship and Gold and Bronze in World Cup 2015.

Sergiu Craciun: C1 1000 and C1 200, won the 4th place at the European Championship in 2012

Carlo Tacchini: C1 1000 and C1 200, won bronze at European Championship U23

The coaches are Giuseppe Buonfiglio and Antonio Cannone.

The presence in Livigno of the Italian canoe and kayak National Team - said Luca Moretti, president of Apt Livigno –  represents our commitment to the athletes and federations who choose our facilities to train at altitude. We aim at providing a real support to them during the training camps.”
