SKI AND SWIMMING TEAMS CHOOSE LIVIGNO FOR THEIR ALTITUDE TRAININGS

Federica Pellegrini e Federico Pellegrino testimonials of the conference in Livigno with FIN (Italian Swimming Federation) and FISI (Italian Federation of Winter Sports).


The CEO of Livigno Tourism Board, Luca Moretti, presented during the press conference of today, two important agreements with the FIN (Italian Swimming Federation) and FISI (Italian Federation of Winter Sports).

With both Italian Federations, Livigno becomes a central hub for the trainings of the athletes of two federations, and confirms itself as a perfect location for the high altitude training for the big races.

The Italian Swimming Team is in collegial retreat in Livigno since couple of days, and is training in Aquagranda center, leaded by the Technicias Matteo Giunta, Gianluca Belfiore and Christian Minotti. The team is made by Federica Pellegrini, Aglaia Pezzato, Carlotta Toni, Simona Quadarella, Carlotta Zofkova, Piero Codia, Luca Pizzini, Simone Sabbioni, Margherita Panziera.

Instead, the Italian Cross Country Skiing Team is training hard on the cross country track in Livigno, prepared with real snow thanks to the Snowfarming technique (conservation of the winter snow), with the Technicians Marco Selle, Paolo Riva there are also the athletes: Federico Pellegrino, Francesco De Fabiani, Maicol Rastelli, Mirco Bertolina, Elisa Brocard, Ilaria De Bertolis, Lucia Scardoni, Greta Laurent, Dietmar Noeckler, Giandomenico Salvadori, Stefan Zelger, Caterina Ganz, Anna Comarella, Sara Pellegrini.

The press conference was attended also by Giorgio Rocca, the athlete of alpine skiing that since years is Ambassador of the mountain resort.

Are two important agreementes – says the CEO of Livigno Tourism Board Luca Moretti – that allows us to have in Livigno the best athletes of swimming and skiing teams. The infrastructures of Livigno give to the athletes the possibility to train with the best condition, to be ready for the World Cup races. We will always support the sports, and our dream is to be one of the mountain resorts chose by the CONI (Italian national Olympics commitee), for the Olympic candidacy of 2026.”

“Beeing able to train on real snow in October is a great opportunity – says Federico Pellegrini – the other National Teams in this period have to train on the glaciers, instead we have the possibility to train at high altitude, and therefore we thanks Livigno that gives us this amazing opportunity.

I really hope that the candidacy to the Olympic Games of 2026 will have a positive result – says Giorgio Rocca – it will be a dream to host some of the winter disciplines here in Livigno and Valtellina, after experiencing as an athlete the Olympic Games in Torino.
